Gate Automation

Electric swing gates, sliding gates, cantilever gates, barriers and road blockers

There is a solution for most applications.
We can supply you a new entrance gate or automate existing.
After a survey of the site we present you with a detailed quotation and specification clearly indicating our proposals, with the option of any additions you may require.
You may want to take a look at our guide to automation document in our support & download section.

Depending on your requirements we are able to provide you with off the shelf gates by third party manufacturers, often the most economical route.
Our experience in this area is to leave the gate manufacturing to the companies that are geared up to produce, this is cost effective.
However, if a personal touch & design is required or simply because off the shelf products do not fit or meet the customers liking we can make bespoke gates for the application.
To see what is available take a look at our Gallery section.

Gate Operators & Motors

The choice of gate operator(s), drive(s) or motor(s) can vary. Where necessary we will give you the options for the type most suitable for your application.
More information on the choice of operators is in our support & download section.
We are not tied to any one manufacturer in this area and can use a vast selection of products available to us.

System Use & Requirements

In addition to the automation of gates, barriers or road blockers we apply extensive knowledge on how you will use the automation.
This can be achieved by a simple remote transmitter, coded keypad, intercom, inductive ground loop vehicle detection, timer or switch.
The operation & security of the system can be designed to suit your individual needs or the needs of multiple users.
Over and above the basic automation use & requirements we have a separate section within this site covering access control & remote cctv systems which can be included to complement your system.

Access Control

Interfaces and controls for automated gates and entry systems including keypads, intercoms and push buttons.

The control is to restrict unauthorised use of a single door, multiple doors, gates or property. Whether it is used on a single system or to complement other automation there are multiple products available. The most common solutions are listed below...

Radio Transmitter

A wireless battery operated transmitter that signals to a receiver to provide an open command to the associated equipment.

Digital Keypad

An electronic coded keypad that operates on a single or multiple code entry to provide an open command to the associated equipment. Codes can normally be deleted and added as required.

Audio Intercom

An audio telephone type system that enable two way speech between both parties. Systems can be standalone using dedicated wiring & internal handsets. Or existing telephone / mobile phone GSM networks to call existing telephone numbers or mobile phones as requested. The systems provide an open command to the associated equipment by depressing a programmed key or button on the handset.

Card/Swipe Reader

A swipe or proximity system that requires an authorised card or key fob to be presented or detected at by a swipe reader or proximity reader. The system supports the addition & removal of cards or key fobs for added control of users. The reader or controller provides an open command to the associated equipment. Ideal for control on multiple doors & gates.

Equipment literature & brochures of the above most commonly used are available in the Access Control & Remote CCTV section of our support & download page.

CCTV & Remote CCTV

Video security systems to compliment our electric gates and automated access control installations.

We are all familiar with CCTV nowadays. Over the past few years we have been providing CCTV solutions to compliment our automation. A wealth of experience in this area enables us to offer simple single camera CCTV sytems to multiple camera systems covering various locations, either with or without a recording medium.

The camera element of the CCTV can be fitted internally to an intercom system, providing a single image of the entrance or at a preferred location covering the whole entrance. A wide selection of cameras are available to suit external, internal or discrete locations. With the addition of infrared led technology areas of poor lighting can be viewed in the darkest of locations.

Single or multiple camera systems can be interfaced with the TV distribution system at the location to provide video images on the existing TV’s.
With certain CCTV hardware remote viewing of the cameras can be achieved by internet explore or mobile phone application.

Equipment literature & brochures of the above most commonly used are available in the Access Control & Remote CCTV section of our support & download page.

IP & GSM Control

Remote control and monitoring of your security systems, gates and other connected devices.

GSM Control

GSM Control is a mobile telephone GSM network based controller.
This controller acts as a switch, that can be turned on or off. The switched side of the controller is independently wired to equipment of your choice.

The simplest of units can be applied to applications such as automated gates in order to open the gates. The GSM module recognizes the authorised callers pre programmed telephone number & operates the relay to provide an open command to the automation.

More sophisticated GSM Controllers have multiple inputs and multiple outputs. These units can text you when an input is activated (i.e. alarm activation, heating failure, pool temperature low, etc).
Likewise you can text the controller to activate outputs (i.e. switch the alarm on, open the gate, turn the heating on, etc).
The top end of these type controllers a fully supervised, which means when you text it to switch something on, it will text you back to confirm the operation.

IP Control

IP control is control.
This form of control can be achieved with a mobile phone app, computer application, independent switches, or a combination of all.
Generally the switching of the equipment can be achieved by your existing lighting controllers (ie Rako, Lutron etc) or a standalone logic controller.

With the availability of apps on many controllers nowadays this area is becoming more popular for control of blinds, lights, heating etc simply by using the lighting controller as a switch controlled through the app software.
To use the control externally you can use the GSM 3G Network  to connect externally through a vpn and connect to you local network. Thus, using your mobile phone app & your broadband to control what you want.

Needless to say there are some requirements for either systems:

  • GSM Control – GSM signal, Controller(s), Wiring to secondary equipment for control, programming.
  • IP Control – GSM signal, ADSL broadband, static IP address, Controller(s), secondary equipment for control, programming.
  • Safety – You don’t want to be turning on food blender when you’re not there, you get the picture!

More information on this can be found in our support & download section.

Consultancy

Not sure what would be best for your home or business? Need some expert advice? We can offer our experienced recommendations.

Over the years, automation systems have become more involved.
With the ability to apply automation to security systems, CCTV, lighting, telephones, IT, audio visual entertainment, and building control we have undertaken projects for clients on a consultancy basis.

Our wide experience in these areas achieved by being involved directly or indirectly with the various systems concerned have enabled us to apply automation solutions where possible to seamlessly link the control of different systems.

The main objective of the consultancy service is to ensure that the customer achieves if possible the simplest solution of interfacing the various systems to act as one.

We are employed on a consultancy basis to oversee the various systems available to the customer & to liaise directly between the customer, designers, manufactures & tradesmen / contractors.
Above all to ensure the customer gets what they want as a minimum and that the risk of over specifying is not encountered, equally with a trade off against cost.
Feedbacks from clients indicate that the overall cost is reduced on most projects using this service.

In this extremely fast moving industry we do not maintain to be the oracle of all knowledge. But our experience with the many different areas enables us to take an unbiased angle on the recommendations proposed to the client. With the end goal being that the customer has many different systems that work with each other when they can.
Thus enabling the use of applications albeit mobile GSM, IT related or simple switching to integrate as one.

All consultancy work is undertaken in extreme confidentiality with the customer's best intentions, based on what is interpreted to be the end requirement of the client. Needless to say there will be a period where detailed requirements are documented initially with the client.
